Service Projects

Building Communities and Helping People in Need

Service Projects

John Morton Ministries participates in and supports charitable projects across the globe, with the mission of building communities and helping people in need, through service, peace, and spiritual awareness. Here are some of our projects over the years:

Matumaini Child Care Center
John Morton Ministries supported
Insight Seminars Teen Leadership and the EduCare Foundation to support and serve the Matumaini Child Care Center in the village of Rau, a facility that houses and cares for some twenty orphans. Teen Insight Leadership creates opportunities to empower and support leaders of tomorrow by giving and receiving service and connecting with the global community. In August 2009, young adults and graduates of Teen Insight Leadership spent two weeks working with impoverished and orphaned children in Tanzania, Africa. Teen Insight partnered with the Knock Foundation and the Matumaini Child Care Organization to help children at Matumaini AIDS Orphanage. John Morton joined the teens in Tanzania, supporting their awareness of how life can be better for themselves and others when they live compassionately, making choices from their hearts.

John Morton at the Boston Marathon Memorial
April 22, 2013 - Today I visited both Watertown and the temporary Boston Marathon Memorial at the one week observance of a Moment of Silence on Boylston Street close to the finish line.  Last night I had listened yet again to the John-Roger Conference of Manifestation seminar, The Law of Empathy. This was a perfect preparation for a deeply moving experience full of compassion, the sacred, and all this is triumphant of Spirit. Over and over, I was moved to tears of beauty and glory transcending the pungent presence of pain and suffering. Read the rest of this beautiful sharing by John Morton.

Planting a Peace Pole on Robben Island, South Africa
A Peace Pole was planted as a symbol of international peace by the Parliament of World's Religion's Sunrise Peace Pilgrimage, inscribed in Xhosa, Zulu, English and Afrikaans: "May Peace Prevail on Earth."  The pole was blessed by the Rev Boudewijn Goudrlaan, vicar-general of the Liberal Catholic Church in South Africa, and by John Morton.  Read the article in the Cape Times Newspaper.

International Day of Peace
On September 21, 2011, as part of the International Day of Peace, John Morton facilitated the Institute for Individual World Peace (IIWP), first-ever Peacemaker Meeting via Skype for the European community. In total, 87 participants from 8 countries tuned in to this landmark event. Folks attended in person at the London hotel suite where John facilitated the meeting. Other participants connected in via Skype – some individually and others in group gatherings.
